What are Values?

I am recently being brainstorming what I am doing and what I want to do? Then I came across a very interesting fact that you do what you truly value? but then what I value how would I know?

I kept working through the meaning of values and its representation in various terms. Retail marketing says true value for your money, socialistic say value the nature and decrease the carbon footprints, the motivational speaker says value your time, religious gurus say value your behaviour, and so on so forth. I have not found what value is?

So, I decided that let's search about what is opposite of value? I guess no value or non-value. Non-value-added activity is a term I heard in Lean Manufacturing way or Toyota Production System. The waste reduction means balance activities are valued. Similarly, I listed down activities in my life which are non-value or waste and started to not focus on them and do less of them. Due to this paradigm shift now I have a lot of time on my hand to do other things, which might be valued or waste but still I got a chance to do more.

Now by this, I came near to understand the real meaning of value. I thing value it the feeling you get when things are richer, healthier and to your liking. Everyone has a Center of gravity and as we start to go near that centre we value things we see things as they are. We start to understand that thins if real and this is fake. And that is when you truly know the meaning of Value.
