Dead Horse Theory

The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians passed on from generation to generation, says that “When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.”
I came to know this theory a few days back,
I did not know why this theory is relevant to today’s world or any world? I tried to go through many resources and found out this very informative image on Pinterest. It is really important to know that all the people are not similar not even intellectually or physically so there will be dead horses.
If you let the first point go, others are so relevant in today's business, they teach the morale of any organization. Dead horse means of no use if we apply that phenomenon then we might be loosing on an important resource.
We know that many HR uses the bell-curve for evaluation of employees. If to fit people in bell-curve they have to some at the bottom and some at the top, many in between. Does that mean employees at the bottom are dead horses? if you believe and remove these dead horses, next season you will still have made few average horses into dead ones. And this will keep on happening.
I believe if we apply all the unsaid rules on the dead horse and try to bring it to life then we would be doing right. Because all fingers of our hands are not the same. If you say the little figure is of no use and remove will you able to make a fist?
Let us harness the dead horses and increase their chances of becoming relevant horses.
